Julep Bombshell May 2012

I got my Julep Maven Bombshell May 2012 box in the mail this weekend. At first I thought I won a golden box because it was so big! Turns out the foot file is just really long so it needed a bigger box. :)

The polishes had shrink wrap around them for the first time ever. This is a good idea because I see a lot of complaints about polish leaking during shipping. I bet this will stop that problem!

Zoya Shawn Swatch

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in so long. Life has been super stressful recently and I haven't been inspired to do my nails. I even kept the same color on for 4 days! OMG!

I hope this will tide you over...It's almost makeup subscription box season so I promise I'll post what I get! ;)

Man Glaze Santorum French Mani

Yep! You know it! More ManGlaze!!! This french mani features only Santorum. (If you're faint of heart...do NOT Google that!!!!)

As you know, ManGlaze dries matte naturally. So, I put a coat of China Glaze Fast Forward on it to make it shiny and boy it is pretty! Then, to make the matte tips, I used Essie Matte About You. This is how Santorum would have looked had I not used a top coat. Isn't the difference amazing??? All of their polishes are like this! You can have a ton of diversity in one bottle!

More Polka Dots?!

Yep! More polka dots! Why? Because I love them!!!

For this mani, I started with Man Glaze Matte About You. I used Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink for stamping with plate BM19.

This reminded me A LOT of a mani I saw another blog, so I wanted to give a shout out to her: chloesnails.blogspot.com.  She was my inspiration for starting to paint my nails to begin with! :)

As usual...freaking beautiful!!!

This one is Mink Mitten and is a gorgeous purple with lots of silver.

Birchbox April 2012

Birchbox came in the mail yesterday. I was a little disappointed with this month's box. Last month was my favorite so far by a wide margin! Here's what we got in the April 2012 Birchbox:

First up, Befine skincare samples. There are three scrubs and two moisturizer samples.

Next, J.R. Watkins Foot Repair Salve. I have terrible feet so I guess this is the product I'm most excited to try.

Pangea Organics Lip Balm.

And.....a godd@mn perfume sample! WTF?! KNOCK IT OFF, Birchbox!

I'm going to continue subscribing to Birchbox because most of the time I love the boxes...but this time I'm a little underwhelmed.

ManGlaze Fu*# Off and Die

I am totally in love with ManGlaze nail polish. The names are funny, the artwork on the bottles is cool, and the polish is freaking gorgeous. Whenever I'm wearing a ManGlaze polish, I can't stop staring at my fingers. It's naturally matte but you can change the entire look by adding a shiny topcoat. Either way, the polish is beautiful and you can get away with only one coat, although I usually do two for good measure.

Here are some swatches of F*&@ Off and Die. One note: The packaging does spell out the F-Word, so don't give it to someone who may be offended! :)

April 2012 MyGlam

I think that I should start giving my mailman a Valentine's day gift each year because I sure do love it when he visits my house!! :) :) :)

Here's what we got in this month's MyGlam Bag. I like this bag the most so far, even though it feels like we got less stuff. I don't know why it feels like that...

First up, false eyelashes. I was pretty excited about getting some falsies when I saw the teaser on their Facebook page. I wear falsies all the time and love trying new pairs! However, these ones are weird They are SUPER long and big and don't look natural at all. Maybe that's the point, but I like falsies to accentuate my lashes so that people ask me what mascara I have on. I don't want them to look ridiculous!! These ones would look silly. Also, the packaging isn't in English. That's ok...but should there be a translation somewhere?

Next, URBAN DECAY!!! WOOHOO!!!! Need I say more? This brand is amazing! I got the color Radium which is one I don't already have, so it's extra awesome.

Next up, brushes! I really liked the brush from last month's bag so I'm happy to have more. I like to have lots of brushes! I use a fresh, clean brush every day when I do my makeup so the more I have the better. Then when they're all dirty, I wash them all at once. The more brushes I have, the less often I have to wash them!

Last nut not least, we got some lip moisturizer. Not much to say on this one, but I do have constantly chapped lips and I'm obsessed with lip products.

I am very happy that they didn't include a coupon this month. I hate coupons and perfume samples in my boxes. They are just filler and I'm not going to fall for it!

Julep Spring 2012 Mystery Box

I Love Julep Mystery boxes!!!! ACK! ADDICTED!!!

Here's what I got this time:

From left to right: Brooke, Basecoat, Cuticle Oil, Marisa, and Melissa.

Brooke, left, is a gorgeous purple glitter. It won't stand on it's on two feet, but I'm excited about layering it over other colors. In fact, I just put it over the blue Marisa and it's freakin' awesome! However...it does not photograph well! I wish I could show you!

The cuticle oil from Julep is the best I've ever tried. It really softens up those cuticles like no other!!! Marisa, the blue, is awesome. There are swatches below. It's got tiny little shimmers in it and this is going to be my go-to polish for the Fourth of July!! Melissa is one I already own and unfortunately it's not one of my favorites. It's meant for layering over other polishes to make them a pearlescent light green, but I've found that it really takes over. I like layered polishes to improve the base one, not overcome them. Oh well!

QVC New Beauty Test Tube

In case you didn't know it, Test Tube actually has TWO versions. This is the QVC version and so far the better version. I am THRILLED  about this box! Everything in it is a great product and I feel like this is a jackpot box!

First in the lineup, we have Peter Thomas Roth gel cream. It is supposed to refresh skin and reduce lines and wrinkles. I love this brand in general so I'm excited to try it!

Next up, Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash. This is meant to be a two in one to cleanse and exfoliate. I've heard great things about the Bliss brand so again, I'm excited!

Philopshy Grace Body Wash. I love this brand! This scent is very light and fresh smelling so I think it's a good one to be able to clean with and then put a totally different perfume on top of it.

St. Tropez Gradual Tanning Lotion. OMG! This is a GREAT brand and if you've seen my YouTube videos, you know that I sorely need this product!

Wen cleansing conditioner. I received this in a previous box from another brand and wasn't too thrilled. Maybe this time I'll use it as a regular conditioner instead of following the instructions exactly. Either way, this is some expensive stuff!

Tarte Lip Surgence in Frisky. I got Amused in a different brand's box and I loved it so I am very happy to have another color!!! This lipstick retails at $24 so this alone pays for the box!

Last but not least we have Stri-Vectin stretch mark reducer. I've tried this stuff before and I don't think it works, but the whole box is amazing!!!

I am so happy with this quarter's QVC New Beauty Test Tube Box!!!
