September 2012 MyGlam Bag

Another great bag from MyGlam! I am very happy with the September bag. I think that they are going to eventually give everyone the entire Andrea's Choice Circus Collection. :)

Here's what I got:

Soho Smudge Brush. I love that MyGlam sends items that you can use forever! I loved their previous brush collection so I hope there's more where this came from.

Andrea's Choice Circus in Tightrope.

Mirabella eyeshadow. This packaging is a little weird. Once you take it out of the cardboard, it's just the pressed powder in a tin. No cover or anything. Oh well!

                                    

Jame lipgloss. This stuff smells fantastic!

 Moni Repairing Split Ends. This product says you can use it on wet or dry hair which I think is great!

I am in love with MyGlam and it's absolutely my favorite subscription service!

Birchbox September 2012

I received my September 2012 Birchbox in the mail today. It felt like it took forever to arrive! This month's box is a lot better than last month's...but that was not a high bar. In general, I'm happy with this month's box. My favorite thing is the nail polish, of course.:)

Little Black Bag September 2012

While I was loading the pics into Blogger for this post,I realized that I forgot to take a picture of all my stuff together! ACK! And now it's all put away. :( So you will just have to use your imagination!

I received a total of 9 items plus the "bonus" item from Benefit.
Here we go!

First, Olivia and Joy Buckled Satchel in black. This is a big, roomy bag. I just transferred all my stuff from my other purse and it fits nicely with lots of room to spare. This is what I opened my bag with this month.

Ball of fame picture frame. This feels cheap and was a last minute trade. I had two smaller items that I hated so I traded up for this. Now I just need to find some pictures to go in it!

Robert Rose Silver Hoop Earrings with discs. These are really cute and were actually some of the cheaper items in the site! Is it weird that I usually like the cheaper items better?

Benefit "That Gal" face primer. This was the bonus item this month. I love the brand and I couldn't decide if I wanted to try something new or if I wanted to have a small size of a product I already use and love. I decided to go with something new. Can't wait to try this primer tomorrow!

Spring Street Black and White Flower Earrings. These are much larger than I thought they would be. See how they make my hand look like a 5 year old's? 

Cargo blu-ray Lip Gloss in Panama. I was obsessing over this gloss. I don't know why. I got it stuck in my head and just had to have it. It retails at about $22 and I traded down from a $35 item to get it! I guess a girl wants what a girl wants. :) The good news is...I LOVE IT. The color is perfect for me! Also, it smells like peppermint!

Surprise bonus! A Benefit "Spy Gal" comic book. Ha! Funny!

Robert Rose wired cuff. This is actually smaller than I thought it would be...and I rarely say that about LBB! It barely fits my wrist. :( I tried bending it out but it doesn't really work. Oh well! Can't win 'em all!

Lydell NYC necklace. I love this. It will look great with the collared shirts I wear to work. It's nice and long and super cute.

Kenneth Cole Blue Cherry Drop Earrings. Not a fan of these. The Kenneth Cole stuff is nearly impossible to trade. I was offering crazy trades at the end to try and dump these, but I couldn't! Nobody wants the Kenneth Cole stuff! At first I thought it was weird but now that  I see these in person, I know it's because they're ugly and cheap looking!

Kenneth Cole Pull through earrings. These ones were also impossible to get rid of. These are keep-able though. I just wish they weren't so gigantic. 

And that's all! I have been LOVING LBB. It's seriously addicting. I may have to exhibit some self control and skip October though...just to save a little money!

August 2012 Birchbox Worst Birchbox Ever

In my opinion, this is the worst Birchbox I have received so far. Perhaps I'm tainted because MyGlam has been so amazing lately but in this month's Birchbox I feel like I paid $10 for a razor that I could have bought outright at the grocery store for half or less. I feel that if I receive items in a paid subscription service that I could (and have!) received elsewhere for free that something is terribly wrong. The razor and the shave cream this month are the only things I couldn't have gotten for free. Which isn't really true either because I've gotten razors for free from Influenster. Sigh. Oh Birchbox! How you disappoint me!!

Viva La Juicy Perfume Sample. Ugh. I can get three perfume samples just like this every time I purchase from Sephora.com. So why am I paying for one???

Yu-Be Moisturizer. I've had at least two other tubes of this in the past. I honestly don't remember which box or company I got them from. But I'm over it. It's not that great and I'm sick of seeing it in my boxes.

Whish Shave Cream. I'll admit--this smells good. This is one of the two samples where I feel like it belongs in a monthly subscription box.

Stila Foundation and Concealer samples. I have received more generous samples than this for freefrom Sephora. So I'm asking myself AGAIN...Why am I paying for this?

And...a razor? WTF, Birchbox? Are you serious? What happened to the high end, luxury sized samples? In each box, we usually get a full sized item and this month's is...a razor? Super disappointed.

I used to love Birchbox and looked forward to it every month. Now I feel like I'm just annoyed. I'm not sure if I'm going to quit yet. Maybe I'll give them another month or two. The August box was definitely a waste of money.

MyGlam Bag August 2012

Once again, the My Glam girls put together an awesome bag! My only complaint is that the top of my lipgloss is broken, rendering it unusable. :( It makes me incredibly sad. I have an email out to customer service to see if they will replace it.

Circus by Andrea's Choice in Ringmaster. Some people were annoyed that MyGlam sent polish out two months in a row--and the same brand at that. However, I LOOOVE polish (if you hadn't noticed) so I was thrilled! Especially since these bottles are huge!

Demeter Dragon Fruit Roll On Perfume. This smells fantastic. Normally I hate getting perfume samples in these bags, but this thing smells so wonderful that I'm actually very happy!

Salty Cosmetics Loose Mineral Shadow in Glama-Zoid. This is going to be a great highlighting shade! It's not nearly as purple as it looks in the photo. It's pearlescent and only  needs a light touch to get a great effect.

Eclos serum and cream. I have never tried this brand, but a lot of people were thrilled it was in this month's bag so I have high hopes.

Custom MyGlam lipgloss! I was super excited about this. Then, I go to swatch it for you and the entire top comes off! Gloss spilled out the sides! I am very bummed about this especially since the color is great and the gloss smells wonderful! Lots of sad faces. :(  :(  :(   I have emailed customer service to see if they will send me a replacement, so fingers crossed!

Sad, broken tube. *TEARS*

My Glam is absolutely my favorite monthly sampling company out there. They always rock my world. Hopefully they will rock it even harder by sending me a replacement gloss!

Little Black Bag August 2012

I am SOOOOO in love with Little Black Bag. You should try it. If you're on the fence, seriously just try it. Can you feel the peer pressure coming through the internet? DOO ITTT.....

In the bag this month, I have some items that I'm totally in love with.

BCBGeneration Hematite Drop Earrings. Verdit: Super cute and I love them.

Lydell Pearl Bracelet. Verdict: Amazing! Can be worn with nearly any outfit.

Betsey Johnson half pearl half chain bracelet. Verdict: I want to marry Betsey Johnson. Everything she makes steals my heart. This is the item I opened my bag with and I wouldn't let it go. Not for anything!

Betsey Johnson Mis-Matches Zebra Earrings. Verdict: Swoon!

 Betsey Johnson Gingham and Yellow Flower earrings. Verdict: A LOT bigger in person than I thought they would be. I imagined a pea-sized drop and they are more the size of grapes. With a little confidence, though, I bet I can pull them off.

Spring Street Three Flower Cuff. Verdict: OMG! I was thisclose to starting my bag with this but went for the Betsey bracelet instead. I was super pumped when I was able to trade for this. It's freaking adorable in person!

Love love love my bag this month. Three new pairs of earrings and three new bracelets! Score! I am getting a reputation at work for always being fashionably accessorized and it's all thanks to LBB. Did I mention you should join? ;)
